Interview 2: Electric Boogaloo

I received an email last night asking me back for a second interview on the writer/editor position with the schools.

Please, all, zap me with your positive mojo.

I think the job is a very good fit for me. I'd be writing curricula for the public schools. A lot of this is now switching over to web-based delivery, so there's some techie aspects to it as well. Strictly speaking, I don't have the experience they're looking for (three years technical writing), but I'm hoping the six years of teaching comp, the two graduate degrees, some experience writing for tenure committee, video game script, course materials, etc. will add up to equivalent experience. I guess we shall see, no?

At the first interview, I also had to edit what looked like a text book excerpt, or possibly a prompt from a standardized test, about the three types of rock: igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic. As some of you know, my brother is a geologist. I told him I thought the three types of rock were rockabilly, British Invasion, and punk.

Yeah, I know, I should really take my show on the road.

    **more good luck!**

In other positive mojo news, Duke women whipped ass tonight in their tournament. Emily and I watched it. I don't want her only role models to be Barbie (which is inevitable) and Elmo.

Emily dumped half a jar of peas on the floor. Does that count?

    **speaking of rock**

I don't know if I already mentioned this, and if so, I'm sorry, but there's an internet radio station that plays Asheville bands. I'm getting some decent rotation on there, but you might be interested in some of the other stuff as well. I think my current favorite (besides me, of course) is Dig Shovel Dig. **Go man go**

I'm not dumping anything on me or my surroundings, but I am sending you the best mojo around. All your time at Measurement, Inc. will surely pay off with this job.

And don't forget Grunge as a late version of rock.

    **Thanks guys**

Thanks for all the encouragement! I think the interview went well, and I believe more than ever that I'm a good fit. Now I will have to try not to think too much about, for instance, the competition. I'm going to have some lunch and then off to work. I'll post more details tonight. Tonight . . . . which basketball games are on tonight?
