I promised to write a little about the second interview I had the other day. I think it went well. I liked what I saw -- and who. The folks at the CTE Resource center are friendly and smart, serious without being humorless. I'm confident it's a job I could do well, and in particular, I think my varied educational background (especially the physics degree) would be an asset to the the center.
As I mentioned before, I don't quite fit the experience requirements in the job announcement, but I did the best I could to show I have equivalent experience. For now I've got my fingers crossed, and I'm trying not to think about it too much, as the actual hiring is done by Henrico County's Human Resources Department which operates on a schedule all its own.
Thanks to all who sacrificed goats, smeared themselves in unguents, etc. on my behalf. I hope your gods and/or ancestors are well-pleased.

From the looks of that suit picture, I'd hire you.
As a sexetary.

How come that line break didn't work for McSkinny.
This is getting evil. But so anyway no that's not the same suit. As I recall at your wedding I was wearing a shirt that was too big and a jacket that was \_way\_ too small. Eh, suits all look alike to me.

reveals that I have misled you. The html tags for some reason cannot be capitalized. Use lower case Mike, and it'll work for you. And then I'll get to working on getting a plugin that will just space out carriage returns -- no need for html at all. I know there's one out there. I just \_could not\_ locate it today. It's called the blosxom "comments" plugin. I can find websites using it, but can't find the plugin for download. Very aggravating.

ReplyDelete**Okay, more experimentation**
I went in and monkeyd with the script myself
Shall we see how this works?
I made all of the html tags capital letters to check it.

I'd like to be able to just double space and get a paragraph break.
Who wants to type html tags?

look all the same to me too.
dammit, my course's website is acting funny, and i've no clue to fix it. nothing like making up quizzes late on saturday night to screw those bastards who left class early last week.

fix your website. I'm sure he doesn't get enough of computer-fixing at work!

ReplyDelete**Sure!**
I'll just put it on the list. Speaking of which, would there be much demand for a BOG site? I've been thinking about it for a while now, and I actually had one written up once, but I neglected to finish it. Anything I do now would be much better anyway. I miss the banter, especially this time of year.

ReplyDelete**Sure**
I'd go to the BOG site. I'd been thinking about trying to put together an honest-to-goodness mailinglist (w/ subsciptions, the whole nine yards), but a website would be one better.

it's fixed--something server-related had quit precisely while i was uploading my updated syllabus, so only half of it was online, which was what was so mystifying. you're saved from unremunerated labor, dan. it seems BOG nature to be too lazy to put up website. though between the two of you, you've already got pics and songs...

do you think it would take Endy to digitize the BOGobrary?

ReplyDelete**mmmm...snaily.**
I don't recall ever seeing Endy move faster than a swift crawl. He even went into the Pond slowly.
