Parents Against Bad Books in Schools

My hope is that through their efforts these folks will raise kids' awareness of Bad Books and Bad Books' place beside Dangerous Drugs, Rap Records, and Secret Sex in the pantheon of worthwhile illicit activities.

I love how their list of objectionable books in VA schools (link toward the bottom) is alphabetized by author. You get just the good parts of books!

Over 18, please.

The Graphic Works of MC Escher? How on earth is that offensive? Did someone think it was gangsta rap?

Also, there is entirely too much Roald Dahl on that list. His were some of my favorite books when I was a kid.

Wow. Every single book I remember reading in High School is on that list.

    **"smell of diarrhea"**

How dare a book mention that shit smells!

Jesus, who went through each of these and recorded every "Goddam" and fart scene? That's some sick devotion.

Why'nt \_Starship Troopers\_ make the list, for its offensive worldview?

Analagous to the film site I probably tipped you to earlier:

oooooooh, I get it. Hee hee...peach.

Actually, I'm surprised that "Danny, Champion of the World" (obviously, my favorite) isn't on there with it's single-parent depravity and victimizing of the put-upon rich through glorification of pheasant poaching.

Unless I missed it, McSkinny, I didn't see any mention of the Bible or its shameful "Hill of Foreskins" episode.

How nice of them to just give us skimmers the good parts! And it's all available on the Net, for free.

I wonder how many kids have surfed over to this?

    Freakin' ridiculous.

Mike, I may have to give \_Gunning for the Buddha\_ the squinty eye--see if there's something about which PABBIS should be aware!
